writes "An addon for phpnuke that shall allow you to offer free email to all your users (doesn't matter if its a new site or already established, the email program will start using phpnuke's userbase automatically) using vhost and mysql database to store messages avoiding your pop3 mailbox to get full. The program uses vhost and a mysql database.
At every action, the script connects to the pop3 account and downloads any new messages (if its a very busy site, it is recommended to change this, since it might flood the pop3 server, but since i run a small site of a small community, i opt'ed for that method) and stores them in the mysql database, allowing faster access and keeping the pop3 account empty and free for new messages.
The idea is there, now lets see how we can make it better, i'm new to programming in php that's why it gave me so much trouble to just come up with this
It can currently :
login/logout using phpnuke functions
Read mail and sort it to correct user
a little bit of security avoiding other users to read other mails
can send mails
todo:
mime support (pls help ;)
address book
delete (very simple but needs to be added.. need a clean way to be able to recover even after trash deleteion for a certain time, since i loose alot of mail i deleted and 3 days later i go i wish i didn't delete it)
archive of sent mail (still thinking if its worth it, maybe as an option... but if its there it'll useup database space which i'd rather use for deletion recuperation... hehe ;)

I have your v0.1 script running on my site (www.roothell.com) and I am impressed with the idea, and so are the users who I have shown so far. Great job!!
I would like to help you, and I will be contacting you shortly. I'm no programmer but I can have my users test it and I can also try to help you research problems that you are running into.
